1. Boho-chic style
One of the main decoration trends in 2020 is boho-chic style decoration. This style is inspired by bohemian decoration and though it uses a neutral base, color and diversity play an important role. But, how can you attain color and diversity? One of the options at Verdissimo to give any space that boho-chic touch is using colorful flowers such as: red roses, blue roses, etc.
In the image below, you can see how to decorate a summer table in a boho-chic style.
2. Palm trees
Floral decoration isn’t limited to flowers any longer. The use of palm trees in 2020 is trendier than ever. It’s true that we’ve always seen them in tropical-style decoration, but now this product is used for all kinds of decoration, from Nordic to boho-chic.
In the image below, you can see an example of decorating with a palm tree, which is placed in the corner of a reading room. We adore it!
3. Nature pictures
Decoration trends in 200 show plants and flowers used not just as decorative elements, but also as part of wall decoration… in a special way! This year, the trend is pictures that show flowers, plants and any type of trees, palm trees, etc.
It’s a nice way to give a natural touch to any space. We’ll show you an example in the image below!
4. Small floral details
This year small floral details are in style for rooms. It’s a minimal trend that brightens up any space and is suitable for different decorative styles. It’s best to choose a small cactus, bonsai or orchid, etc. The most important part of this trend is to place a small floral detail in a strategic spot.
In the image below, we’ll show you a single orchid giving a floral flair to the entire space.
5. Plants in the bathroom
Yes, you heard that right! Plants are perfect for any room of the home, not just living rooms and offices. The trend of placing plants and flowers in the bathroom has been in style for years, including this year. It gives off lots of brightness and freshness to spaces that are usually fairly lifeless.
In the image below, you can see an example of floral details working well in bathrooms.
6. Green galore for patios
Using plants and flowers for patios is definitely one of the oldest trends out there… and it never goes out of style! Remember that the flowers, plants and trees that you choose to decorate your patio should be outdoor and match the decorative style of the patio. For example, if you’ve selected tropical furniture and textiles, you could use palm trees, and so on.
In the image below, we’ll show you an example of floral decoration for a patio.
7. Flower pots on the floor
Large flower pots on the floor of a home is another decoration trend. Beforehand, this trend was only seen on patios. However, we see more and more decorators using plants and trees in large flower pots on the floor to decorate corners of the home, entrances, hallways and “dead spaces” in living rooms, etc.

8. Flowers and plants on shelves
Shelves aren’t just for placing books, photos, etc. Every day, these practical and decorative elements are used for small floral details, always next to books. Decorating shelves with books and flowers is one of the safest bets when decorating this year.

In the following image, you can see how it looks. We adore it!
10. Wicker flower pots
Want to decorate with plants and flowers, but don’t know what flower pot to use? In 2020, wicker flower pots are a safe bet. It doesn’t matter what color. They come in brown, beige, white and even black. With these flower pots, you’ll give a warm touch to the surroundings.

This activity, apart from being ecological, is lots of fun and the results are really spectacular. 15. Small flowers
The new trends in floral art make small flowers the absolute stars. Simple floral compositions are easy, as giving a touch of green to a vase or container and nothing more is what is important. Together with the vase and the flower, you can add other decorative elements like a few crystals or some pearls in a bowl, a figurine or any subtle detail. The idea is that the result is simple. If the flowers are tiny, you can use a few. If they are roses or peonies, just use one flower. You can use a preserved rose or any other treated flower thanks to their completely natural appearance.

In decoration being practical as well as decorative is important. Flower arrangements with preserved flowers do not need to have the flowers changed constantly, do not need maintenance and are, therefore, more economic. A perfect idea for homes, but also for commercial spaces.
